Avocado

If you consider to grow Avocado’s in your backyard I can really recommend this variety. It is partially self-pollinating. You can get a good amount of fruit, even if you plant only one of them. For a larger crop you might want to plant two different Avocado varieties.

A great tip I found about Avocado’s is, they stay fresh for very long if you leave them on the tree and only pick the fruit you are going to use. They fully ripen within a couple of days on your kitchen bench. I tried it, and it works perfectly. My tree started flowering again in August and the last fruit is still on the tree (but will be picked soon).
